Are there requirements to apply for a merchant account for a Web site?
The following requirements must be met to apply for a merchant account:
- Your Web site must be published to the Internet ("live").
- Your DBA ("doing business as" or business name) must be on your Web site.
- You must list your products and prices on your Web site.
- You must provide your return/refund policy on your Web site.
- You must provide your shipping methods on your Web site.
- You must provide your privacy policy on your Web site.
- You must provide your customer service contact phone number on your Web site.
- Your shopping cart must be working and secure (but it will not process). .
What information do I need to apply for a merchant account?
You need the following information to apply for a merchant account:
- The social security number, Driver's License Number, and contact information of the principals of your business.
- The Bank Account and Routing Numbers of the Checking Account used for your business.
- Information about your business, including a Tax ID or social security number, and location information.

What happens after I fill out the Merchant Account paperwork?
After completing the online application, you will be contacted by your Merchant Account provider, either by phone or email, within 72 hours. The information you receive could be a request for additional information and/or a decision on your application.
Expected approval and deployment time for your Merchant Account:

- Specialty Merchant Account: 5 Days
- International Merchant Account: 4 Weeks

How does online credit card processing work?
The 5 Distinct Components of Online Credit Card Processing:
- Customer's Credit Card - Provides the funds needed for the transaction. All authorized cards are processed in the same way, regardless if they are credit or debit.
- Shopping Cart - Serves as a collection point for necessary information including credit card data, product type and quantity, shipping information and more.
- Gateway - Securely transfers encrypted data from the Shopping Cart to the Merchant account, screens for fraud and authorizes the transaction.
- Internet Merchant Account (Processor) - Verifies the credit/debit account for the necessary funds. Approved transactions are processed and the funds are placed in a Checking Account.
- Checking Account - Receives and holds the money gained from approved online sales. Funds can be withdrawn at any time through an ATM or at your local bank.
Does the shopping cart include credit card processing?
The shopping cart will collect your customer's credit card information but to process the credit card order over the internet, you will need a payment gateway account (Merchant Account) that is compatible with our service.
Your real-time processor is the company that will handle the actual transfer of funds when a credit card order takes place.
How do I integrate my web site with the shopping cart?
You simply log in to our administration area, change some basic settings, add your products or services to our database and paste a line or two of HTML code into your web site. The setup process could not be easier!
